Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus (womb) that connects to the vagina. It typically develops when abnormal cells in the cervix begin to grow uncontrollably and form a tumor. Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers that can be largely prevented through regular screening and vaccination.
