Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease(GORD) also know as Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease(GERD), is a chronic medical condition where acid from the stomach flows backward (or refluxes) into the esophagus (the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach). This acid reflux can cause a range of symptoms, discomfort, and potentially damage the lining of the esophagus.
